My Purpose & Passion: Empowering Women in Corporate

Jun 26, 2023

Hi I’m Janine.

I wanted to use my first blog to introduce myself and give you the reasons why I believe this work is so important and how women in corporate can benefit from it.

Warning!  Today’s blog will be much longer than future blogs but I’m setting the scene…………

The first reason is because I am just like you.  I have also been where you are.

A bit of background info………I had a corporate career up until 2010 where I left my HR Director role and took a leap of faith to go travelling around Australia for a year with my then very new boyfriend.  Everyone thought I was crazy! (including me but it also felt right).   That new boyfriend is my now 13 year partner Chayne and together we have 2 boys aged 10 and 9 and just to really surround myself with male energy our dog Buddy is in the mix too.  I also have aging parents and all that entails including my mum being diagnosed with Alzheimers/Dementia a few years ago.

I have also run a service based consulting, coaching and facilitation business, Be You Consulting, for the past 12 years working with organisations like Microsoft, Beiersdorf, Luxottica, Fortinet, Axicom, Ralph Lauren, NSW eHealth and coaching hundreds of men and women in the corporate space from CEO down.

However, what inspired me to start my on-line business this year was witnessing the impact of a lack of confidence on women in corporate.  It was disheartening to see so many women comparing themselves to others or feeling like they had to be like someone else in order to succeed.

In my experience, I have found that women tend to put undue pressure on themselves to be perfect, especially in male-dominated fields.  As a coach, I have been able to make a difference in enabling women to come back to themselves, become more confident, and make bold decisions.  From being brave enough to have tough conversations, to asking for what they’re worth, to putting their hat in the ring when a role becomes available, or even to leave a job or company that is no longer serving them.

As a coach, my ultimate goal is to empower women to be bold, be brave and be authentically themselves, whether they are in corporate or any other industry, regardless of their role or title.  That’s why I decided to branch into the on-line space and create a program and community that could reach more women and help them own who they are, step into their confidence and become the best version of themselves at home and work.

I believe that everyone deserves to have access to quality coaching and guidance, and my on-line program offers that opportunity to women who may not have access to in-person coaching through their organisation.    It also offers women a little bit of ‘me’ time where they are allowed to selfishly focus on just them and what they need or want.

I’m passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space where women can connect, learn, celebrate, share and grow together.  Through my coaching and with this on-line program, I’ve seen first hand how transformative it can be when women realise they’re not alone in their struggles.  When we hear others sharing their stories and experiences, we often see ourselves in their words and find peace in the realisation that ‘we’re not alone’.

Creating a community of like-minded women can also provide a sense of accountability and motivation.  When we have others cheering us on and supporting us, it can be easier to stay focused and committed to our goals.

I believe that by coming together we can achieve more than we ever could alone, and I’m excited to be a part of this transformative process for you!

If this sounds like a right fit for you…………..watch this space for some webinars, on-line courses and the launch of ‘Be Bold, Be Brave, Be You!’ in September 2023.

In the meantime, If you’re ready to step into your full potential, but you’re holding yourself back I’m excited to share my experience and expertise through my fortnightly blog and offer key questions to get you thinking differently and challenging yourself.
